My Everyday Makeup (Winter 2015)

I love makeup. It is my favourite part of getting ready for the day. Although I do not wear a full face of makeup everyday I wanted to show you my "I'm-actually-leaving-the-house" makeup look.

During the Autumn and Winter months I like to wear more makeup. In the summer I never usually go past using one neutral shimmery eye shadow, a few coats of mascara, face makeup and lip balm. Boring I know!
For some odd reason, I have more confidence in wearing bold makeup during the colder months. This year, I have even taken the plunge and I have started wearing dark lips! This is mostly to do with me having braces and not having an overbite anymore (sucking my thumb as a child came back to bite me). Before having braces on, I would never ever dream of wearing a bright or dark lip because I was paranoid it would draw attention to my teeth and that was the last thing I wanted. But now I can proudly rock a coloured lip even with braces on.

Anyways, lets skip the boring part and get into my "everyday" makeup look.

Step 1- Base

Primer is a life saver! I can never do my makeup without using a primer to begin with. I have oily combination skin so foundation will never last long on me unless I use a primer. My absolute fav primer is the Benefit Porefessional Smoothing Primer. I absolutely love the texture and finish of this product and used with my favourite foundation, the Revlon Colourstay Foundation in 110 Ivory and my Loréal True Match concealer in the shade 2 Vanilla, my makeup will last for hours on end. If I'm looking particularly exhausted that day, *cough* *everyday* I will use my Benefit Erase Paste in fair. I bought this concealer nearly two years ago and I have used it almost daily and I still have more than half of the tub left. This salmon coloured concealer is perfect for camouflaging those annoying dark circles that I, sadly cannot get rid of. I will then set my whole face with the Revlon Photoready Powder in 010 Fair/Light then I will contour and bronze up my face a little using the Barry M Contour Kit. The two bronzing/contouring shades and the highlighting shade are super pigmented so be careful when applying. The first time I used this palette I ended up looking like I'd just spend 2 weeks in Italy! I love this palette.

Step 2 - Eyebrows

I like nearly every other person on the planet these days am obsessed with eyebrows. I never thought eyebrows would be such a big deal! LOL! I like to use the Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil in the shade medium brown to fill in my brows as I have naturally quite dark brow hair. But first, I always comb through my brows so I can see what I'm dealing with. I've recently started to use a brow gel because my eyebrows have a mind of their own! They will never stay in place. Ever. So I like to use a brow gel to run over them so they don't budge. I am currently using the Rimmel London Brow This Way clear brow gel.

Step 3- Eyes

Now for my favourite part; the eyes. I start off with using my Urban Decay Primer Potion which was a raved about product back in the early beauty blogger/ guru days and was one of my first high-end makeup items. My go-to eye shadows at the moment are Mac All That Glitters all over the lid with a bit of Mac Omega blended into the crease. I like to bring the crease colour quite high up on my eyelid because I have hooded eyes. It makes your eyes appear larger than they actually are. I will then highlight my inner corners and brow bone with my Barry M highlight from the contouring kit I used earlier.
I will always use black eyeliner at this time of the year. I am currently loving the Loréal Super Liner in black. It is so easy to create a winged liner with this because it is a felt tip lined. I love it! I then finish off with coats and coats of the Maybelline The Lash Sensational mascara. I absolutely adore this mascara. It makes my lashes look long and voluminous (two things they are not naturally). It is by far the best mascara I have ever used (including the Benefit They're Real). If I'm feeling super fancy, I will go in with a flesh coloured eyeliner on my bottom waterline to open up my eyes. I am obsessed with one from Rimmel in the shade nude.

Step 4- Lips
(From left to right- Loreal Paris Collection Privee Lipstick by Cheryl, Rimmel London Kate Lipstick in 107, The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer, Mac All That Glitters eye shadow and Mac Omega)

Time for the fun part. For an everyday look I will use my Loréal Paris Collection Privée Lipstick by Cheryl. This is by far my absolute favourite lipstick. It is a 'my lips but better' colour. But if I am feeling bold, I like to wear a red lipstick. I love the Rimmel London Kate Lipstick in the colour 107 on top of a red lipliner. I found this lipstick through Zoella. She use to rave about this lipstick and it looked amazing on her so I decided to buy it. Even though it is a matte finish I find that is doesn't dry my lips up like some other lipsticks but I do find that it bleeds quite a lot so that's why I use a lip liner first.

Step 5- It's time to get cheeky!

(Left- Cindy-Lou Manizer by The Balm and Barry M contour kit)

First off, when I wear a red lip I like to bronze up my face a little more so I will go in with my Boujois bronzing powder (which smells and looks like a chocolate bar) and I will add this to the perimeter of my face. On my cheeks I have been using The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer. I'm going to be honest, this was an accidental purchase. I was meant to buy the Mary-Lou Manizer but I clicked on the wrong thing. Opps. But I actually really like this blush. It between a pink and peachy colour and it has a really pretty fine shimmer through it which looks gorgeous on the skin. I love the finish it gives to my makeup look.

And voilà, my "everyday" Winter makeup routine. Although it sounds like a lot, I don't actually use that many products and I've realised I use a lot of Loréal, Rimmel and Maybelline. LOL!

  1. I love so many of these products! And I just recently added the Benefit Erase Paste and Mac All that Glitters to my wish list, haha. If you find the Rimmel 107 to be too matte, I love shade 31 from the Kate collection. It's really similar to the 107 but it has more of a creamy finish.

    1. I 100% recommend those two products, they really are my must-haves. I'll have to look at shade 31 then, I want to go on a lipstick shopping spree. You can never really have enough can you? Haha x
