3 Apps For Anxiety & Stress

I just had to share this beautiful quote from Roald Dahl I found on Pinterest. 

Ive suffered really badly in the past with anxiety and it still flares up sometimes which makes life really tough. I use to get such bad anxiety a couple of years ago that I couldn't leave my house so Ive tried and tested quite a few different methods to help ease my anxiety over that time and Ive discovered a couple of really good and helpful free apps to ease your anxiety.

Calm is the app I have used for the longest and Ive probably mentioned it a couple of times on my blog already. I seriously love this app and it has helped me through so many anxiety attacks and stressful moments. This is actually great to use if you're a nervous flyer also. This app has a variety of different scenes and sounds to listen to in your session. They have guided sessions from 5 minutes to 1 hour and they also have body scans where you go through focusing on different body parts to completely relax your body and mind, timed sessions and loads more. This app has seriously been such a huge help for me over the last few years and I cannot recommend it enough!

Ive actually just discovered this app through watching Aspyn + Parkers vlogs after Parker mentioned using it with his apple watch. I don't have an apple watch but I really wanted to try it so I downloaded it and its free. Its basically an app that visualises your breathing for daily relaxation, meditation or breath training. You can set your breath cycles to suit you and your needs which is great. An amazing one to stop a panic attack is the 4-7-8 technique. Basically you take in a deep breath in for 4 seconds, hold it for 7 and slowly exhale for 8 seconds. This will completely relax you and hopefully calm you down enough to stop a panic attack. 

This is a meditation app made simple. Thats all you need to do is set up an account using your email address, facebook or spotify account. Its essentially a 10 day meditation course for beginners where they guide you through each session building up into the bigger ones. If you subscribe (I haven't yet) or after your completion of Take10 then you can get access to a bunch of different sessions and categories like patience, kindness with different health conditions suitable to you. Whats great about this app is they have a section for kids where they teach short and simple meditation and relaxation techniques to suit all ages so its great for you mums out there.

  1. I've heard of Headspace but not the others, I tend to use free apps... Are the 1st and 2nd free? I will have to try them out if they are!

    1. They are all free apps but you can buy extras on there. I havent payed for any extras and I still love them x

  8. so many people recommend the calm app and i think its about time to try it myself. i get quite anxious on trains and its not very nice as i have so commute every day.
