Goals For Summer 2017

I am so happy its summer! Although you wouldn't guess its summer if you looked out the window right now. Its pissing down with rain here and its so gloomy out I even have my lights on at 2pm! Oh, and Im wearing about 10 layers because Im so cold. But, its still summer. Glorious British summer...

But Im not going to complain for too much longer because we've already had an amazing heat wave and we've had quite a few warm, sunny days already. However, I am going to keep on praying for warm, dry weather so that I can do some fun activities this summer. I actually have quite a long list of things I want to do this summer with my friends and family.

Get to my target weight.
I have lost almost 4 stone over the last few years and I am so close to my target weight, 13 lbs to be precise and I would love to reach my goal by the end of this summer. I go to Slimming World every monday morning but I have gained a couple of pounds back that I lost so I am desperate to get to my target. I love Slimming World because they teach you to have a healthy relationship with food. Theres no calorie counting and its all about filling up with free, healthy foods. I 100% recommend SW to anyone who is sick of doing silly fad diets that leave you hungry and grumpy or want to build a better relationship with food and their body.

Read 5 books.
Big Little Lies and Me Before You are two books I definitely want to read this summer. Another book I really want to read is The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. Its a thriller about a seemingly perfect young couple and their neighbours but at a dinner party they soon start to discover each others secrets. If you have any more book recommendations please let me know, I have a list of books I want to read in my notes on my phone.

Publish blog posts frequently.
As you have all probably noticed I have been absolutely rubbish at blogging over the last few months and that has a lot to do with me being ill and I had kinda lost my love for blogging.

Have a picnic.
This was a goal of mine for last summer but we never ended up having one. There is something so fun about having a picnic and preparing all of the food. I am lucky because there are so many beautiful spots around where I live to have picnics so Im spoilt for choice on where to go.

Practice Yoga and Meditation.
I love yoga and meditation but its something I haven't been doing much lately because Ive been having so many flare ups with my illnesses so my goal for this summer is to try to meditate for at least 5 minutes everyday and to do some gentle yoga every other day to build up some strength in my very weak body.

This may be a silly goal for some people because most people go out partying every weekend but its something that I actually don't enjoy that much. I would much rather spend my weekend at home watching Netflix or doing something fun with my friends. Alcohol and me just don't mix too well and my anxiety always goes through the roof whenever Im surrounded by drunk people so you can understand why I don't go clubbing. In fact, I can count on one hand how many times Ive been clubbing. But because I cant do so many things because of my health and I miss out on so many "normal" things I really want to have a couple of fun nights out with my girlfriends.

Explore my county.
I live in the very beautiful county of Pembrokeshire but there are so many places here I have yet to visit and explore and especially because Im sadly not going anywhere outside of the UK this year. We have so many beautiful seaside towns and beaches and I really would love to visit some new ones and find a new favourite spot.

Do more travel posts.
As I just said, I want to discover more places in my area this summer and Im going over to England to see friends as well so I want to do some local travel posts. I know for a fact Im going up to Yorkshire for a few days to see a family friend so I would love to do a travel diary for there. I did a travel diary when I visited Windsor last summer and its one of my favourite posts Ive done. You can find that post here if you missed it.

  5. This is a great idea for a post! I usually do goals at the start of the year but its always good to reflect on more half way through the year. One of mine would also be to read more, I never usually used to read but recently I started reading a girly rom com and I ac find it so relaxing! x
