4 Quick Ways To Make Your Makeup Look Flawless

Makeup has come a long way (thank God) since I started wearing it at age 12 and I'd like to think I've become a lot, lot better at makeup. Ive learnt all I know about makeup from watching good old youtube for the last 7+ years, seriously there's nothing you cant learn on youtube these days! Ive found quite a few great tips that really work for me over the last couple of years to make your makeup look flawless and to last all day.

Use a damp makeup sponge
I dont know how I did my makeup before I dicovered beauty sponges and I was actually late to that party, I only started using sponges a few months ago. Ive only ever used the Real Techniques ones because I begrudge paying £15 for a Beauty Blender (Im cheap what can I say?!) but its still a really great sponge. I had to throw mine in the bin because I had used it so much and it didn't matter how many times I washed it I just couldn't get it clean and Ive really been missing using one. My makeup definitely doesn't look as good so I need to buy a new one asap!

Finish with a makeup setting spray
This is a step that has changed the overall look of my makeup and I really notice a difference when I dont use one. My all time favourite spray is the All Nighter setting spray by Urban Decay because its the only one Ive found that sprays a fine mist over your face and doesn't leave your makeup blotchy. I really would love to try some other setting sprays ideally that wont cost me and arm and a leg to buy. Apparently NYX do a really great one that affordable so I should probably try that one out.

Add coverage as you go
Dont pile it all on in one go like I use to do. The best way Ive found to get a flawless complexion is to spot conceal or add extra foundation to your problem areas then you dont end up with a cake face. I find that using a damp beauty sponge also stops your makeup from looking as cakey because your blending the makeup into your skin rather than rubbing it on top of your face with a brush if you get me?

Blot your lips
This is my favourite tip I have to do this every time I wear any sort of lipstick, especially liquid lipsticks and thats mainly because I get an awful line of dry skin where my lips meet when my mouth is closed and it looks horrid. But blotting your lips with a tissue or even your finger after you apply lipstick leaves it looking more natural even if you wear a bright or bold colour and your lipstick usually lasts longer so that a 2-in-1 tip right there.

I hope some of these tips help you out. Im no makeup expert but I've definitely done my fair share of testing and trying out different makeup hacks.
