My Quarantine Reading List

One thing I've been trying to do more of in quarantine is reading. I've had a massive book wishlist for ages but I don't read frequently enough. I go through phases of reading everyday and then I won't pick up a book for weeks.
I've had a list on my phone for almost a year now of different books I want to read and books that have been recommended to me.

I'm currently reading my first ever Stephen King book- The Outsider. I bought this book last summer but I only started reading it a few weeks ago. It's a dark thriller with lots of twists and turns. It might be a triggering read for a lot of people though so read with caution. It's quite along read so it's not something you can read in a few afternoons. Im really enjoying it though and I can't wait to read more of Stephen Kings books in the future.

The next book I want to read is Normal People by Sally Rooney. You've all probably heard of the BBC series Normal People and even watched it. I binged it in 2 days and I absolutely loved it. I've never watched a series like it and I loved every second of it. I cried twice in the last episode and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I finished it. I'm really curious to see what the books like. A lot of the time the book is always better than the movie or TV show so I'm intrigued to see what it's like. It's a best seller so I'm sure it will be a great read. It's currently sold out on Amazon though so I might not be reading it for a while.

Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens is another best seller at the moment. "Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder." It's described as "painfully beautiful" according to the New York Times and its sold over 4 million copies. I can't wait to read this one.

The last books I want to read are The Vampire Diaries series. I'm a massive Vampire Diaries fan and I've watched the series twice and I was hooked as soon as it came out! I started reading the books when I was a teenager but I never finished them so they've been sitting on my shelves for years just waiting for me to finally read them. I have the first 3 books so they will keep me busy for a while. I only remember pieces of it from when I started to read them almost 10 years ago (yikes!) so hopefully it will keep me hooked and interested.

What book are you reading at the moment? Have you read any of the books on my reading list?
